Mitt Romney — as governor of Massachusetts left that state with the biggest per-capita debt of any state. His track record in government and his choice of advisers strongly suggest that he will do it again.

Where does that leave voters like me?

Yes TD, I am sincerely afraid you are right. It's why I don't particularly care for him. IMO he's not really a conservative. Not that I think any of the others would have been any better, with the exception of Ron Paul and quite possibly Herman Cain.

I backed Cain, I even joined his website Paul was #2 on my list, hope he gets VP nod.

Funny how the Cain thing never came to anything once the MSM kicked him off the bus.

Surprised? This is really the first time I've opined about Mitt, I've defended the MSM droppings about him being a bully, his Mormon roots etc. but for me he has issues.

The MSM wants you to think only about the Bain stuff because they think they can somehow snowball that into a cover for the horrible job Obama is doing.

The truth is if they want to stick it to Mitt they need to change, and then hope. Obama is stumbling, after campaigning over the last six months he's shacky, it's like a car on fumes, still running, but slowing down fast. The Catholics have filed suit and Obamacare will be struck down.

Will the voting public rise to the occasion, or will they caMITTulate, (cease resisting) and elect Mitt just because he promises hope and change.

Interesting thought. Mass. instituted health care reform by the democratic legislature creating the huge shortfall. That continues today and is being subsidized by the Federal Government.

The next question is obvious, can you afford another 4 years of O's spending as he has made it clear what his intention is.

Would Romney's spending approach anything like O's spending?

Will waste be reduced?

Will business be spurred into a growth phase under O? Under Romney?

In today's economy we cannot cut or tax enough without damaging the economy. Growth with cuts and additional taxes is the only answer to today's quagmire.

Will the country become more united under O or Romney. We ... more

Will it come down to anyone but O?

As far as I'm concerned it already is. Now about Romney ,I'm not a Romney fan,but I see him as the lesser of the evils.

Perhaps voters need to see some of the facts of 'the other' candidate..... Romney has a problem in that, really, no body likes him...... But consistently Ron Paul has shown well in polls against Obama and he is more than just a little worry for Romney at the GOP convention...

Rojayalso, stop voting for the lesser of evils...I know that it is hard but if people actually paid attention and voted for the best available, they might actually win.... My candidate hasn't won in the past several elections but my conscious is clear... I voted for who I felt was the best for America.

Scott,
Agree with your assessment on Paul however, mainstream America will not support him. That creates a problem, if he becomes a 3rd party candidate, the election is over O wins. Not a pretty thought at all. If Paul wins the convention becomes the candidate, he stands a chance of winning

Governors like Presidents, they give their constituents what they want if they want to stay in office. What it comes down to is constituents demanding the things that drive up deficits, then looking for a scapegoat to blame when it happens...

It's doubtful that Ron Paul or Cain would have faired any better holding the line on debt expansion given a public who demands otherwise, which is no doubt why they're not going to end up on anybody's ticket...

Like it or not we get what we ask for, even if what we think we want vs. the messages we send to our elected officials are incoherent and contradictory...

You are correct that a President with out the backing of the Congress can really do nothing but when, in recent memory have we heard the president stand in the bully pulpit and tell,to the people, the truth.... the true state of affairs.... the "ask not what your country can do for you" moments. We need someone in the Whitehouse that isn't afraid to veto a bill because it has a bad provision and call out congress for putting it their in the first place.... You are correct that we get what we vote for but all to often apathy and the lack of basic understanding of the problem causes many people to vote for who the MSM says is good.... when people are finally made to understand that the MSM is part of the problem, perhaps people will change what they think is important.

Sounds like a bunch idealist mumbo jumbo, but I think that for the most part Americans have been treated like mushrooms for a lot of years....... Kept in the dark and feed a bunch of BS.....
